Which barcode reader works best with Fritz?

F.A.Q.

Barcode scanners can be used to speed up the data entry of information used to open or close a work request. Fritz will work with most desk or hand held barcode scanners.

When specifying a scanner there are two types of scanners available - the laser scanner and the Optical (red LED) scanner. In the past a 'wedge' reader was connected between the PC and the keyboard, this style is still used, however the more common connection of a barcode scanner is achieved via the USB port.

Our clients have used a variety of brands of barcode readers. One that has worked well is a model manufactured by Datalogic. It is called the Touch65/90 Range. It is suggested that you purchase a model that contains a trigger to activate the beam. One supplier of these readers is called Vantex. They can be contacted in Melbourne, Australia. For other suppliers contact Datalogic direct and ask for a list of suppliers in your area.

See details of Touch65/90 below.

Special Note:

There are no financial rewards or ties between Vantex and the developers of Fritz... we have simply found these suppliers reliable and helpful.
There are many other suppliers of barcode reading devices which may be equally helpful.
