What type of hardware is needed?

F.A.Q.

Fritz will operate using any IBM compatible Pentium II or better processor. If however you have faster machines, you will notice a considerable speed enhancement in the speed of retrieving data.

The current version will no longer operate on Microsoft Windows 98. It operates well on Windows XP (or later versions) providing that you have enough memory in your PC. We recommend 1GB, but 512Mb will suffice. Windows versions after XP may require more memory. As memory is generally fairly cheap we suggest you spend a bit extra on memory, so that you can have multiple applications running at the one time (i.e. Fritz + MS Excel etc).

If you are intending to use client/server database connectivity, you must be running a Windows Network Server. Fritz will operate successfully across a Novell server, but it does not have a native Novell Console application.

Other hardware items that you may require are a barcode reader. Any hand held barcode scanner with USB or Keyboard Wedge interface will suffice. It must be able to read code 3of9 (Code 39) extended and Code 128 Barcodes, and place an automatic tab after each read. Checksum functionality should be turned off.
